Virginia Casino Revenue Rises 15.5% Year-over-Year in December

Virginia casinos generated $86.5 million in December, up from the previous year’s figure of $74.9 million and representing a year-over-year increase of 15.5%.  

According to the latest figures from the Virginia Lottery, the Caesars Virginia casino generated the highest revenue in December of just under $36 million, a 27% year-over-year increase from the $28.3 million generated the year prior. Both slots and table games in the casino saw revenue increase, with table games revenue rising 58.6% and slots rising 17% year-over-year.

Additionally, the Hard Rock Bristol Casino saw revenue rise 9.8% year over year, from $20.6 million to $22.7 million. Table games posted a 43.1% year-over-year increase, and slots revenue rose 2.9%.

Rivers Casino Portsmouth recorded the smallest year-over-year revenue increase, rising 3.1% from $25.9 million to $26.7 million. While slots revenue rose 5% year-over-year, table games revenue fell for the casino by 1.1%

Interim Gaming Hall Norfolk, a temporary venue for Boyd Gaming’s $750 million resort casino, which opened in November, generated $1.1 million in December, an 18.7% month-over-month decline from the $1.4 million generated in November. Overall slot revenue in the state climbed 10.9% year-over-year from $56.6 million in 2024 to $62.8 million in 2025, and table games revenue saw a double-digit year-over-year increase of 29.7%, rising from $18.3 million to $23.7 million.
