Fanatics went live in Colorado on December 4, 2023, after taking over Pointsbet’s license in the state earlier that year. It was the 8th state to legalize Fanatics officially. Residents of the Centennial State can now bet on the Broncos, Nuggets, Avalanche, and Rapids with Fanatics.
Connecticut
You can bet with Fanatics online and in person in Connecticut. The online sports betting app went live on December 18, 2023. Since then, Fanatics has opened 10 retail sportsbook locations all throughout the state, including one at Sports Haven in New Haven and at Bobby V’s in Stamford and Windsor Locks.
Indiana
Fanatics launched in Indiana on February 27, 2024, making it one of the more recent legal Fanatics states in the US. Like in many other states, Fanatics took over Pointsbet in Indiana, so Pointsbet players in the Hoosier State do not need to create a new account.
Iowa
The Hawkeye State welcomed Fanatics to the state on February 6, 2024. Previously, Pointsbet was operating in Iowa. Fanatics is on the same license. Iowa surprisingly has one of the most crowded sports betting markets in the US, so Fanatics has a lot of catching up to do in 2024.
Kentucky
Fanatics has been legal in Kentucky since September 28, 2023. The Bluegrass State has no top-level professional sports teams, but it is a hotbed for college basketball, making it a great place to bet on NCAA basketball and March Madness with Fanatics.
Maryland
Maryland was the first state Fanatics opened in after acquiring Pointbet’s US operation in 2023. Fanatics opened a retail sportsbook at FedEx Field on January 20, 2023. Fanatics went live with their online sportsbook six months later, on June 1, 2023. Maryland was also one of the four states where bettors could livestream NFL matches on the Fanatics apps in 2023.
Massachusetts
Massachusetts was another early adopter of Fanatics Sportsbook. The app went live in the Bay State in March 2023 and has continued to be a major player in the Massachusetts sports betting scene. Like in Maryland, bettors in Massachusetts can live stream NFL games on the Fanatics apps in 2023.
Michigan
The Fanatics app went live in Michigan on February 22, 2024. Like in many states, Fanatics took over for Pointsbet in Michigan. All Michigan Pointsbet accounts were migrated to the new Fanatics Sportsbook app in Michigan on February 22.
New York
Fanatics has been legal in New York since February 29, 2024. Before that, Pointsbet was legal in the Empire State, meaning all New York Pointsbet players can now use their old Pointsbet accounts at Fanatics in New York. Given the number of high-profile teams in the state –like the Knicks and Yankees– Fanatics is a great choice for casual bettors in New York.
North Carolina
North Carolina is the newest state in the union to welcome legal sports betting. The North Carolina sports betting market officially went live on March 11, which is also when Fanatics launched in the state. This change in North Carolina law came just in time for North Carolinians to bet on the 2024 March Madness tournament.
Ohio
Fanatics received its license to operate in Ohio in January 2023. However, issues with Fanatics being a seller of sports memorabilia and a sportsbook caused a long delay in the process of Fanatics opening in the Buckeye state. The Fanatics app finally went live in August 2023. Fanatics also has two retail sportsbooks in Ohio; at Nationwide Arena in Columbus and Progressive Field in Cleveland.
Pennsylvania
Fanatics opened in Pennsylvania on January 22, 2024. The Keystone State is another Fanatics legal state where Fanatics took over from Pointsbet, so opening in the state was more about figuring out how to migrate Pointsbet accounts to the Fanatics app.
Tennessee
Tennessee was the second state Fanatics opened in after buying Pointsbet in 2023. The Fanatics app went live in the Volunteer State in May 2023. The state opened its sports betting market in February of that year. Fanatics opted to launch their app later after months of beta testing instead of rushing to the market in February 2023. Now, Fanatics is one of the best sportsbooks in Tennessee.
Vermont
Sports betting is not the first thing most people think of when they think about Vermont, but the Green Mountain State actually has a pretty big sports betting market with over ten legal sportsbooks. Fanatics joined the party on January 10, 2024.
Virginia
Fanatics launched in Virginia in August 2023 after acquiring Pointsbet’s Virginia gaming license. Virginia was the seventh legal Fanatics state. Virginia has 16 legal sports betting sites, so Fanatics has a lot of competition in the Old Dominion State.
West Virginia
Fanatics went live in West Virginia on November 16, 2023. West Virginia was yet another state where Fanatics simply took over Pointsbet’s license. However, West Virginia was unique because it was the first state where Fanatics also took over Pointsbet’s online casino license, meaning you can also play Fanatics casino games with your Fanatics account in West Virginia.
