Octoplay Awarded License for Alberta’s Upcoming Regulated Market

Online casino games developer Octoplay has earned a conditional license from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Commission, extending its presence in the North American-regulated market.

The license means that Octoplay will be allowed to supply its games to licensed operators when Alberta’s regulated online gambling market launches on July 13. The supplier already has its foot in Canada’s regulated market, partnering with BetMGM and PokerStars in Ontario.

Octoplay is also present in two US markets, after debuting in New Jersey last year with BetMGM and launching in Michigan earlier this year with four operators, including BetMGM, Fanatics, FanDuel, and Rush Street Interactive.

“Alberta is one of the most strategic market openings on our 2026 roadmap. Entering it with the performance data we’ve built in Ontario, New Jersey, and Michigan gives us a strong foundation to be one of the first suppliers to partner with local tier-one operators as soon as the market opens,” said Ralitsa Georgieva, CEO at Octoplay.

In addition to Canada and the US, Octoplay has also launched in multiple regulated markets across the globe, including the UK, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Greece, Romania, Malta, Slovakia, Finland, Brazil, and Georgia.
