Massachusetts casino revenue falls by 2.9% to $101.9 million in August
The three commercial casinos in Massachusetts posted in August total revenues of $101.9 million. Although showing a 2.9% year-over-year decrease compared to $105 million generated in August 2025, August revenues are up 3.3% month-on-month compared to revenues of $98.4 million generated in July.
In a report published by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, revenues form slots accounted for the majority of the total, generating $73.1 million, a slight decline of 1% year-over-year from $72.8 million. Table games produced in August revenues of $28.8 million, down 7.5% compared to $31.1 million posted in the previous year.
Encore Boston Harbor posted the highest revenue for August, seeing revenues of $62.8 million, down 3.3% year-over-year from $64.9 million. Slots proceeds at the Boston casino decreased by nearly 1% for the period, generating revenues of $38.4 million, while table game revenues declined by 6.8% to $24.3 million.
MGM Springfield followed with revenues of $23.8 million, showing a year-over-year drop of 4.1% compared to the $24.9 million posted in the previous year. Slots at MGM Springfield accounted for $19.4 million, down 2.3% year-over-year, and table games dropped sharply by 11.3% to $4.4 million.
Plainridge Park Casino, which does not offer table games, recorded consistent revenues for the period, posting slot revenues of $15.1 million.
