It’s around that time again, with gambling regulators across the United States publishing their latest monthly revenue reports. We’ve been monitoring the updates closely and are here to bring you the latest in casino and sports betting revenue financials for June 2024.
Delaware
The Diamond State saw a significant year-on-year jump in handle in June, as online sports betting had yet to launch in DE this time last year. The Delaware Lottery announced that almost $13.1 million was wagered on sports last month, compared to $3.1 million in June 2023.
Launched in December 2023, Delaware’s three online sportsbooks, powered by FanDuel, dominated the market. Together, they captured nearly $12.3 million of the handle, while retail sportsbooks contributed the remaining $786,412.
Indiana
Sports betting in the Hoosier state saw a 33.1% increase from last June, with the Indiana Gaming Commission reporting a $298.2 million handle. June’s figures have positioned Indiana as the eighth state to surpass $17 billion in all-time sports betting handle.
DraftKings led in June with $114.1 million in wagers, followed by FanDuel with $83.9 million, and BetMGM collecting $28.7 million. However, FanDuel produced the highest Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) of $11.8 million, while DraftKings collected $10.0 million, and BetMGM reported $3.3 million.
Kansas
Kansas saw a similar pattern to Indiana, with DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM taking the top three spots. DraftKings’ handle reached $66.2 million, FanDuel came in second, reporting $39.8 million, and BetMGM secured third place with $11.2 million. Barstool, Caesars, and Fanatics contributed the remaining handle, which totalled $140.1 million across all six operators. Compared with June 2023, handle was up around 42.8% in Kansas.
Maryland
The Maryland State Lottery & Gaming Control Agency was another to release its June 2024 casino revenue data. Revenue was down a mere 0.5% year-on-year to $162.9 million. MGM National Harbor generated the highest revenue of $68.2 million, followed by Live! Casino & Hotel with $60.4 million, Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore with $14.1 million, and Ocean Downs, collecting $8.1 million.
Massachusetts
According to the latest figures from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC), the state’s three land-based casinos generated $96.08 million in AGR during June. Encore Boston Harbor contributed the most with almost $60.4 million, MGM Springfield came in second with $21.9 million, and Plainridge Park Casino collected $13.8 million.
The MGC also published the state’s sports wagering results, revealing that the eight online and three in-person operators combined to generate $40.46 million in taxable sports wagering revenue. This includes BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, ESPNBet, Fanatics, and FanDuel.
New Hampshire
The Granite State reported a 25.7% increase in handle year-on-year, as June 2024 saw wagers reach nearly $49.4 million. However, June’s figures were the lowest reported since August 2023’s handle of $38.8 million.
Through its exclusive partnership with the New Hampshire Lottery, DraftKings is the only operator available in NH, both online and offline. Online sports betting led, collecting $44.6 million of the handle, while retail sportsbooks generated the remaining $4.8 million.
